Big Canoe's 1,400 Acre Potts Mountain Property Placed in a Permanent Conservation Easement
PICKENS COUNTY/ATLANTA - January, 2018 : Avalon Real Estate Partners announced the successful brokering of the sale of the Big Canoe Company, LLC's Potts Mountain parcel to an entity led by Five Rivers Conservation Group. The Potts Mountain parcel consists of approximately 1,400 acres of rolling mountain property at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Once planned as a future phase, Potts Mountain is across from the main gate of Big Canoe, North Georgia's 8,000 acre private mountain master planned community. Following the acquisition, the property was placed into a permanent conservation easement. GRAYSON/ATLANTA - October, 2017 : The 335 acre residential portion of the master planned community known as Independence, in Grayson, Gwinnett County, Georgia recently closed, kicking off a major phase of the development. The transaction, which was brokered by Avalon Real Estate Partners, was concluded between developer Stolz Partners and Forestar (USA) Real Estate Group, Inc. D.R. The 430-acre mixed-use community is a development of Stolz Partners and is located at the intersection of Ozora Road and Highway 20 in Gwinnett County, adjacent to Bay Creek Park. When complete the development will extend along both sides of Highway 20. The residential portion of the community adjoins Bay Creek Park, while the retail and commercial part of the property will abut Grayson High School. In addition to the homesites and commercial component, Independence is planned for over two miles of walking trails that connect residents to Bay Creek Park, Grayson High School and all existing and future retail developments along Hwy 20 Avalon Real Estate Partners is now focusing its marketing efforts on the remaining 90 acres of commercially zoned land at Independence, which allows for over 450,000 square feet of retail, restaurant and office type uses.
