Brent founded Avalon Real Estate Partners in 2010. As the founder of the firm, Brent brings more than 15 years of experience in the Atlanta market in brokerage, land development and redevelopment sales. Throughout his career he has successfully brokered nearly $700 million of total land and redevelopment sales.
Brent graduated from the University of Georgia with a B.S. in real estate from the Terry College of Business. He began his career as a licensed real estate appraiser at McColgan & Company honing his skills before expanding his career into the land brokerage business. Over the past 10 years, Brent has consistently ranked among the top producing land brokers in the Atlanta market with the majority of the transactions accounting for large, raw land tracts for investment and development.
Alex joined Avalon Real Estate Partners in 2010 after having spent two years running a small construction and contracting firm. Working on both the buyer and seller representation sides of the business, Alex focuses on the acquisition and disposition of residential lots and future residential land. Alex works with homebuilders and developers to select sites and communities. He helps facilitate the acquisition of those sites and subdivisions throughout the entire process including site selection, contract negotiation and entitlement.
Alex is a native Atlantan and received a B.S. in economics from University of Georgia’s Terry School of Business. Alex is a licensed real estate sales agent in the State of Georgia.
Brooks T. Battle joined Avalon Real Estate Partners in 2015 with nearly 20 years of real estate finance and sales experience. Prior to joining AREP, Brooks was managing director at Core Property Capital, an Atlanta based real estate development and investment firm, where he led an acquisition team that directed the recapitalization of more than $700 million of income-producing properties and the deployment of more than $190 million of equity capital.
Earlier in his career, Brooks served as managing partner for Glandon Capital Group, a commercial loan origination, acquisition and servicing firm. He was also a significant part of the team at RBC Centura Bank, the U.S. banking arm of RBC Financial Group, which was responsible for more than $300 million of origination financing for commercial acquisitions and construction financing. During his tenure with RBC, Brooks also oversaw the integration and management of the commercial real estate loan portfolio of Eagle Bancshares, a $1.5 billion community bank that RBCC purchased in 2002. Brooks began his career with Cushman & Wakefield in New York.
Brooks holds a B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Thornton joined Avalon Real Estate Partners in 2012 with an emphasis on land brokerage. Representing both buyers and sellers, Thornton’s primary’s focus is Atlanta’s core in-town neighborhoods. Thornton began his career with Cousins Properties as an assistant project manager and director of sales for a second home residential development, Blalock Lakes in Newnan, Ga. He then moved to Bullock Mannelly Partners in Atlanta, where he represented buyers in their acquisition of multifamily land sites.
A native Atlanta, Thornton holds a B.S. from the University of Georgia. Thornton is a licensed real estate agent in the State of Georgia.
Daniel Candler joined Avalon Real Estate Partners in the summer of 2016. Daniel divides his time between strategically prospecting new opportunities and supporting the senior brokers by performing research, analytical, organizational and marketing duties. Prior to joining AREP, Daniel was an analyst and site inspection manager at the Birdsey Group, specializing in CMBS third party due diligence. Daniel is a native Atlantan and graduated from the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business with a B.S. in Real Estate. Daniel is a licensed real estate salesperson in the State of Georgia.
Lauren Roman joined Avalon Real Estate Partners in the fall of 2020. Lauren spends her time performing research as well as collaborating with each of the brokers in order to create exceptional marketing materials that highlight the importance of each project. She also oversees all office communication and organization. Lauren graduated from the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business with a B.S. in Real Estate.
